Hi, my name is Giacomo Cortes.

Born on July 31, 1979, as the son of an Italian mother and a Spanish father, I feel attached to the taste for the beauty and the love of nature of both countries. I love to be in the Tuscan vineyards in spring or to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the Sardinian coast in summer.

About Giacomoc Cortes, Nature, Climate, Health and Watches.

If possible, I’m always on the road. From Italy to Spain, France, Germany, and the USA. In search of new impressions and new friends who inspire me and from whom I can always learn something new.

One day, looking for family heirlooms, I stumbled across a previously locked room in the basement of our family’s centuries-old house in Como – and behind this door was my grandfather’s old watch workshop. Enthusiastic about the opportunities that opened up before me and a firmly defined idea for the future, I contacted a watchmaker and friend in Switzerland to produce the first prototypes based on my designs. And with that my new life began, which I started to devote to the development and design of beautiful classic and modern watches and their distribution. Visit my shop here …

The idea of Watches for Nature (#Watches4Nature) was born.

My other great passion is nature and climate protection.

Every day I think about how I can improve my personal CO2 footprint,

how I can help protect the future of our children,

how I can help stop global warming.

And it doesn’t matter whether Climate-Change was man-made or not.
We have to react in any case!
I am convinced that if we do not react immediately and take urgent measures, we will run into a catastrophe that will turn out to be fatal to humans.

And that’s why I decided that the watch manufacturer Giacomo Cortes is now carbon neutral. Even better: for every watch we sell, we plant at least 25 trees – all over the world. And we try to do even better in the future.

Each of these trees will “suck” up to 1.2 tons of CO2 from our atmosphere and thus neutralize it in up to 80 years.

As the owner of a Giacomo Cortes watch, you can show that you have ensured that a total of around 30 tons of climate-damaging CO2 are extracted from the atmosphere. And so you become a Climate Super Hero!

My third great passion is health and a harmonious body.

Every day I think about how I can improve my personal health, how I can help others to protect and strengthen their immune system, how I can help to stop global malnutrition and obesity.

And we all need to understand that, even with a healthy climate, we will not survive when our immune system, our metabolism, and our health doesn’t follow up.
And the present COVID-19 crisis shows us with emphasis: we have to react now and every coming day!

Thousands of years ago people realized that to have a healthy body you have to eat healthy.

Excessive consumption of animal fats, caffeinated drinks, and heavily sweetened carbohydrate-containing foods harm our bodies. They cause the metabolism to store too much fat in certain body cells, clog arteries and are the reason for many diseases that are commonly referred to as “prosperity diseases” today. So it looks like the prosperity in which we live makes us sick. Probably because we do not handle it consciously and responsibly.

To make matters worse, today we seem to have no time to feed ourselves “slowly”. So-called “slow food” is now being propagated in order to dissuade people from immediately satisfying hunger – whenever it becomes apparent – with offers from the food industry.

We have forgotten how to prepare our food freshly. Instead, we get a bag, a can from a supermarket shelf. And who looks after the additives that are added to our food in these cans?
Additives, that generally do not serve the consumer, but the manufacturer of this more or less artificial food.

Having explained that, who is still astonished that we lose our health, all become fat, have no energy and suffer from many diseases. Of course, in such a state we are the perfect victims of a viral contagion …

We must stop being slaves of the food industry!

Every day I think about how I can improve my personal health, how I can help others to protect and strengthen their immune system, how I can help to stop global malnutrition and obesity.
